The New Smyrna Beach Garden Club Awards Committee submitted an application for the FFCC (Florida Federation of Garden Clubs) Award #8: Garden Club of the Year in November 2019. The rules require an application and a Book of Evidence, detailing the programs, services, projects and fundraising that the NSBGC members provided from January to December 2019.
FFGC judges awarded NSB Garden Club First Place, out of the 236 Garden Clubs in Florida.
The Book of Evidence was then forwarded to the Deep South Garden Clubs, Garden Clubs in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee to be judged.
Deep South Garden Clubs again Awarded NSBGC First Place for Garden Club of the Year.
The Awards Committee members compiling and submititng the application and the Book of Evidence were: Kathy Smullen, Jean Kelley, Donna Johnson, Marty Romaniello and Karen Chapple.
Five years ago, Suzi Bailey set up the New Smyrna Beach Garden Club Facebook Page. It has been a terrific method to educate and inform our members, community followers and fellow gardeners of NSBGC events.
